NBA astrology 2k12′ edition
Posted by: | Comments
With the emergence of New York Knicks free agent point guard turn hero Jeremy Lin; I was compelled to reevaluate the astrology of the current stars as well as take another look back.
88′ power cluster
The last 3rd of 1988 has spawned a seemingly incredible crop of young stars. Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, and Russell Westbrook all have Mars Aries. I’m not sure at the moment why this particular stretch of Mars Aries has produced such a group of players. Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook have fire moons to go along with the Mars Aries helping to augment their explosive athleticism. One issue that needs to be watched closely is back issues due to Saturn in Sagittarius. Derrick Rose is the first one to show the effects of that with chronic back spasms.
The new kid on the block so to speak Jeremy Lin was also born in the same period in 1988 and has Mars Aries as well. Over the past 4 game winning streak, Lin has provided assertiveness, leadership , and charisma which are all positive traits of Mars Aries. (Baron Davis who is on the bench recovering from a back injury for the Knicks is also a Mars Aries native).
Around the league
Timberwolves young point guard Ricky Rubio has been a major catalyst in the Timberwolves run . His Mars Gemini is showing ( great hands) in his assist and steals stat columns. The thing to look out for with Mars Gemini’s is they have great hands ( Patrick Ewing, and Zach Randolph are two big men who have/ had this placement) as Gemini rules hands, lungs , and arms. But at the expense of the knees and legs , which is not nearly as detrimental to big men as a point guard. Rubio has actually been a professional since he was 14 so he’s been playing for a while now and not a true rookie in the sense of the word. We will have to see how his legs hold up.
Blake Griffin is another Mars Gemini native who will have to look out for leg issues . Saturn Capricorn will manifest itself in the joints, skin, and bones so that’s something to keep an eye on also.
A look back
A look back at the 1992 dreamteam reveals some very interesting astrological facts. The entire roster’s sun signs complimented each other. The sun being a mans fundamental expression of masculinity means that in male professional sports this needs to be the first characteristic evaluated.
Here are some interesting facts about the 92′ dreamteam roster:
- 6 Leos ( Magic Johnson, Chris Mullin, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, David Robinson, and Christian Laettner).
- Dynamic air sign duo ( Michael Jordon Aquarius, and Scottie Pippen Libra)
- Shooter and disher extraordinaires ( Larry Bird Sagittarius and John Stockton Aries)
- The entire roster was masculine signs.

Posted by: | CommentsOprah Winfrey recently , towards the end of her shows run and now into her own network venture, has been the advocate of many new age and metaphysical principles. She has been consulting and communicating many spiritual advisers , leaders , and authors and there is one rather large topic of discussion that she and a few of her spiritual mentors seem to have somewhat of an obsession with. That topic is the ego. Why is this? Well the answers can very well be narrowed down to astrology.
First we have to take a look at Oprah‘s own natal situation to understand this more.

Oprah speaks on ego issues a lot. About dissolving the ego, how ego damages others (possibly) and how ego(or at least the unevolved ego) is a cause for many of the ills of modern society. When we take a look at her natal chart though it is very easy to see why and how she could have a negative view or has trouble understanding the ego.
That is because her own Sun is placed in Aquarius which is the sign of it’s detriment. The sun functions poorly in Aquarius. The Sun’s home is in Leo which indicates a strong self identity, strong ego, a need for expressing self, a lively individual, a leader, a showman. With this comes self centeredness, arguments , ignoring others needs , narcissism, self importance( manifestations are predicated upon planetary aspects, house placement and other factors). These are all issues that an Aquarius may have trouble dealing with and expressing. Since Aquarius is “all of us”/ Uranus as opposed to the Sun /”me”/ “center of the universe”, Aquarians can have trouble having thoughts, creations of their own. They are eclectic so their “self” expression is largely a gumbo of others thoughts and expressions. So when asked for personal opinions and feelings there can be a cold objectivity that really doesn’t take personal views into account. After all it’s about humanity and there’s no room for my personal issues in humanity. . Thi
So when Oprah talks about the ego it’s essentially a place of misunderstanding in my opinion. Now let’s take a look at her chart. Her Sun is exactly conjunct Venus in Aquarius. So not only does she embody the Aquarian principles but she values and appreciates them. Then her Mercury is also placed in Aquarius. So there is a strong Aquarian influence there. Her Jupiter is placed in Gemini which is a sign of it’s detriment as well. Jupiter is a spiritual planet , placed in Gemini makes the spiritual mind logical .
Two of Oprah’s “new age” spiritual advisers, one of whom she speaks extensively of ego issues with are also Aquarians. “A new earth” author Eckhart Tolle is one of the ego specialists Oprah confides in and the other is Reverend Ed Bacon, who is an Episcopal priest in Pasadena, California. Both just so happen to be Aquarians and coincidentally born on the same date in the same year.
Their chart:
We see that they both have Aquarius Suns as well. And they have Mercury placed in Pisces which is also in it’s detriment. It indicates inspirational speakers, but the main point is it is another non egocentric position and Pisces is service oriented and spiritual in nature. This chart has markers for spiritual practicality I guess is what you could call it.
Healthy ego and self identity is important. The zodiac at the end of the day is about balances. So the Aquarian idea of Utopia and peaceful coexistence and understanding is a great idea and principle especially now that we’re in the Age of Aquarius. It is not really a possibility however because there will always be Aquarians opposite Leo, and there will also be Aries, and Scorpios, and Sagittarians around . There will always be ego centered people on the earth. So by understanding the nature of Aquarius we can understand the desires and vision that Oprah sees. But we must understand that it’s not natural for everyone to view life in this way so there could never completely be the ” New Earth” how the Aquarius envisions it.
I’d really like feedback on this please if you have any thoughts or questions don’t hesitate to respond.

Since the Lakers got swept recently, questions have been sqirling around about Kobe, has he lost it, why didn’t he do more, what would Jordan have done?
This has been a comparison that has been brought up for at least 10 years. Who is the better player, who has the most heart etc. Some say Kobe quits sometimes in games whereas Jordan never quit.
Lets look at some of the indicators and aspects in their charts that indicate either’s will and drive to be spectacular.
Elementally speaking, Kobe is very earthy and dispassionate, with earth and air dominating. Jordan has a strong fire and air presence.
Sun conjunct Saturn: Both of them have/had a strong work ethic and dedication to the sport. Kobe’s Sun conjuncts Saturn in Virgo and Jordan’s conjunct in Aquarius.
Kobe Bryant‘s Venus, Mars, and Pluto conjunct in Libra: While Libra isn’t particularly well placed in Mars or Pluto, combined it indicates a strong will that can be obsessive, this is the kind of tenacity one would look for in a leader or a star athlete.
Jordan’s Mars Leo opposite Saturn: Mars Leo indicates the heart of a Lion in a professional athlete. Accolades mean everything and when their reputation is put under a microscope. Cruiser and Heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield has this placement as well just to illustrate the point. Most of the time they would rather die trying to save their pride than willingly throw in the towel. Mars in Leo (self) opposite Saturn in Aquarius (humanity or in this case all the players in the NBA) indicates that Jordan constantly evaluated himself against what all the other players in the league were doing and wasn’t satisfied until it was acknowledged that he was the best. This indicates harsh self criticism and self doubt.
Kobe’s Moon Trine Saturn : Composure under fire and able to operate with sense in crunch time.
MJ’s Mars trine Moon: Passions and aggression closely tied to emotional responses. You get hit and it becomes a powerful motivator.
MJ’s Moon sextile Saturn: That same cool collection needed in crunch time that Kobe has, MJ has . Saturn again taming emotions into more practical and sensical responses.
Both are most likely the top NBA players in the history of the game
When you take into account the variables, eras, Jordan having Scottie Pippen etc. Kobe having Shaq , it becomes harder to to really distinguish who is the better player.
On paper however it’s clear to me that in terms of relentlessness, willpower, and fortitude to win and dominate, Michael wins.
What about you, what are your thoughts.
